Wasatch Track Starts Day 1 of BYU Invitational

PROVO, Utah-Friday, the Wasatch Wasps’ track and field team competed at Day 1 of the BYU Invitational at Robison Track, going against their fellow 5-A schools, as well as 4-A and 6-A squads, representing schools from Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming.

In the girls’ 3200-meter run, Abby West placed 36th overall while Morgan Rosskelly fared more successfully in the girls’ high jump, placing 7th overall with a leap of 5 feet and 1 inch.

In the boys’ shot put, Mitch Nelson placed a respectable 9th overall with a toss of 47-06.75 feet.

The girls’ discus saw Sydney Hiatt place 36th overall with a toss of 80.75 feet.

With the majority of the events slated to occur Saturday during Day 2 of competition, there’s still plenty of chances for the Wasps to be successful.
