HEBER CITY, Utah (Wasatchhighathletics.com)-Wednesday evening, the Wasatch Wasps’ boys lacrosse team netted a tremendous victory on Senior Night, prevailing 12-9 over the Bear River Bears at Wright-Tree Stadium.
As a pallid rain descended upon Heber City during the game, the Wasps’ spirits were not daunted, especially as the seniors were honored prior to play starting.
Those honored included defenseman Joshua Sluga, attack Chandler Roylance, team captain/defenseman Mason Hiatt, captain/midfielder Justin Nye and captain/defenseman Sean Gilboy.
In a back-and-forth affair, the Wasps finally took complete control in the 4th Quarter as Chandler Roylance scored on a seamless pass from his younger brother, Landon Roylance, giving the Wasps a 9-8 lead they would not relinquish.
Nye and Chandler Roylance then scored again, giving Wasatch their final margin of victory against one more Bears goal.
