LOS ANGELES-Per Tuesday news, BYU mens basketball star freshman guard/forward A.J. Dybantsa was named a John Wooden All-American as confirmed by the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
Dybantsa has also been named as one of five finalists for the John R. Wooden Award which will be presented April 10 at 7:00 pm MDT at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
Dybantsa led the nation with 25.5 points per game for the Cougars, scoring in double figures in each of BYU’s 35 games on the season.
Joining Dybantsa on the John Wooden All-American team were the following:
Arkansas freshman guard Darius Acuff Jr. (23.5 points, 6.4 assists per game for the Razorbacks)
Duke freshman forward Cameron Boozer (22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils)
Michigan State sophomore guard Jeremy Fears Jr. (15.2 points, 9.4 assists per game for the Spartans)
Houston freshman guard Kingston Flemings (16.1 points, 5.2 assists per game for the Cougars)
Iowa State senior center Joshua Jefferson (16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds per game for the Cyclones)
Michigan senior forward Yaxel Lendeborg (15.2 points, 7 rebounds per game for the Wolverines)
Purdue senior guard Braden Smith (14.3 points, 8.8 assists per game for the Boilermakers)
Texas Tech junior foward J.T. Toppin (21.8 points, 10.8 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders)
Illinois freshman senior guard Keaton Wagler (17.9 points, 5 rebounds per game for the Fighting Illini)
