This photo shows the Utah State Capitol, Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Salt Lake City. Utah lawmakers are entering the final day of what has been a relatively quiet 45-day legislative session. By constitutional rule the Legislature must end its session Thursday, which often means the stroke of midnight. Lawmakers are wrapping up negotiations on a number of bills, including proposals to change the state's liquor and gun laws, and putting the finishing touches on a roughly $13 billion state budget. Utah Lawmaker Proposes Renaming Harvey Milk Blvd.

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah Rep. Trevor Lee is sponsoring a bill to rename Harvey Milk Boulevard in Salt Lake City to Charlie Kirk Boulevard. Harvey Milk was an LGBT-plus leader and one of the first openly gay elected officials in the country. Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was killed at an event at Utah Valley University in September. If House Bill 196 advances during the upcoming legislative session, it would require approval by both chambers of the Utah Legislature. If passed, the street name change would take effect in May.
