5A State Championship @ Rice-Eccles Stadium

SALT LAKE CITY-Aisa Galea’i ran 60 yards for a score, returned an interception 78 yards for a score and added a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as the No. 4 Orem Tigers clobbered No. 3 Springville 42-7 Thursday at Rice-Eccles Stadium to win the 5A state championship. Tayden Ka’awa added a 12-yard touchdown pass to Mack Ellison and Beckham Curtis and Max Stonebreaker also ran for scores in victory for the Tigers. Beau Halvorsen threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Stafford Small in the loss for the Red Devils. Orem has now won 10 state championships in football. The Tigers have state championships in football in 1947, 1962, 1968, 1987, 1994, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2025.

Crimson Cliffs Tournament @ Crimson Cliffs High School

WASHINGTON CITY, Utah-JJ Serre’s 28 points led the way and the Wasatch Wasps surged past host Crimson Cliffs 79-68 Thursday at the Crimson Cliffs Tournament. McKay Lindquist led the Mustangs in defeat with 20 points.
