5A State Quarterfinals
SALT LAKE CITY-Kamden Lopati threw two touchdown passes and the No. 1 West Panthers humbled No. 9 Bountiful 14-3 in the 5A state quarterfinals Friday. Cooper Coleman made a 32-yard field goal in the loss for the RedHawks. West next faces No. 4 Orem Wednesday at 11:00 am in the state semifinals at the University of Utah.
OREM, Utah-Aisa Galea’i ran for a pair of scores and the No. 4 Orem Tigers routed No. 5 Woods Cross 35-7 Friday in the 5A state quarterfinals. Tayden Ka’awa added a 30-yard touchdown pass to Kaue Akana and Easton Kajima also ran for a score in victory for the Tigers. Viliami Tapa’apoutai ran for a 24-yard score in the loss for the Wildcats.
SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Tua Naufahu ran for a pair of scores and the No. 3 Springville Red Devils got past No. 6 Box Elder 28-21 in the 5A state quaterfinals Friday. Tuiono Valeti and Treyton Harris also ran for scores in the win for Springville. Gray Davis and Kaydn Reyes each ran for scores in the loss for the Bees. Springville next faces No. 7 Brighton Wednesday at 2:30 pm in the state semifinals at the University of Utah.
PLAIN CITY, Utah-Judah Valle and Sam Tauvao each ran for scores and the No. 7 Brighton Bengals stunned No. 2 Fremont 27-14 Friday in the 5A state quarterfinals. Calvin Cooper and Manase Tuatagaloa each threw a touchdown pass in defeat for the Silverwolves.
