5A State Playoffs 2nd Round
PROVO, Utah-Sandra Sagers scored and the No. 5 Timpview Thunderbirds blanked No. 12 Wasatch 1-0 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. Amaya Tolman recorded the shutout in the net in the win for the Thunderbirds. Timpview next visits No. 4 Springville Thursday at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Savannah Johnson, Adalie Dodd and Mya Bergeson each scored and the No. 4 Springville Red Devils blanked outlasted No. 13 Clearfield 3-2 Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs. Kamryn Weaver and Emmery Johnson scored in defeat for the Falcons.
OGDEN, Utah-Savannah Zenger scored and the No. 10 Brighton Bengals upset No. 7 West Field 1-0 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. Lillah Slighting recorded the shutout in the net for the Bengals. The Bengals next visit No. 2 Olympus Thursday at 4:00 pm in the 5A state quarterfinals.
HOLLADAY, Utah-Kiera Bradley and Jade Cavazos each scored and the No. 2 Olympus Titans doubled up No. 18 Alta 2-1 Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs. Taylor Butt scored in defeat for the Hawks.
MIDVALE, Utah-Halli Wright and Taylor Nye each scored twice and the No. 11 Box Elder Bees upset No. 6 Hillcrest 8-0 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. Oakley Norman, Payton Mund, Desarae Elegante, Milley Barber and Marley Barber also scored in victory for Box Elder. Emma Nelson was accredited with half of the shutout in victory for the Bees. Box Elder next visits No. 3 Spanish Fork Thursday at 4:00 pm in the 5A state quarterfinals.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Kamrey Robinson scored and the No. 3 Spanish Fork Dons outlasted No. 14 Bonneville 1 (3)-1 (2) on penalty kicks in extra time Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs. Liliana Amarillo scored in the loss for the Lakers.
KEARNS, Utah-Joseline Osorio, Stacy Hernandez and Thianna Garcia each scored and the No. 1 Kearns Cougars dismantled No. 17 West 4-1 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. Sienna Ripperton scored in the loss for the Panthers. Kearns next hosts No. 8 Bountiful Thursday at 4:00 pm in the 5A state quarterfinals.
BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Belle Sorensen, Alivia Roberts and Addi Gines each scored and the No. 8 Bountiful RedHawks clipped No. 9 Maple Mountain 3-1 Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs. Kate Yeates scored in defeat for the Golden Eagles.
