LOGAN, Utah-Per Sunday news, following a national search, Utah State University Interim President Alan L. Smith named Cameron Walker as the next vice president and director of athletics effective October 6.
Walker has previously been in key roles at the University of Tennessee, the University of Central Florida and Utah Valley University.
Most recently, Walker served as the senior deputy of athletics and chief strategy officer at Tennessee since November 2024. He gained additional responsibility as the executive director of the UT Athletics Foundation in July 2025.
Walker joined the Volunteers in January 2021 as deputy director of athletics for competitive excellence.
Walker will officially be introduced at a news conference during this upcoming week. The university will announce event details soon.
