Bryson Barnes Named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week

LOGAN, Utah-Monday, Utah State graduate student quarterback Bryson Barnes was named as the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week in leading the Aggies to a 49-30 win over Air Force Saturday.

Barnes threw for 287 yards and two scores while running for three scores on 15 carries to help Utah State overpower the Falcons.

Barnes also made the Davey O’Brien Award Great 8 List Monday for his Week 3 performance. Other honorees include:

Old Dominion redshirt sophomore quarterback Colton Joseph (16-22, 276 yards 2 TD’s) against Virginia Tech

Georgia Tech redshirt junior quarterback  Haynes King (20-28, 211 yards) against Clemson

Texas Tech senior quarterback Behren Morton (23-35, 464 yards, 4 TD’s) against Oregon State

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed (17-37, 360 yards, 2 TD’s) against Notre Dame

Tulane redshirt senior quarterback Jake Retzlaff (15-23, 245 yards) against Duke

Alabama redshirt junior quarterback Ty Simpson (24-29, 382 yards, 4 TD’s) against Wisconsin

Georgia redshirt junior quarterback Gunner Stockton (23-31, 304 yards, 2 TD’s) against Tennessee.

Barnes and his Utah State teammates host McNeese State Saturday.
