Pacific Coast League

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Leody Taveras homered and the Tacoma Rainiers downed Salt Lake 9-5 Saturday in Pacific Coast League play at The Ballpark at America First Square. Josh Fleming posted two strikeouts in 2.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Rainiers. Matthew Lugo homered in defeat for the Bees, who celebrated Fan Appreciation Night for the penultimate home game, and last night home game, of the season. Following Saturday’s results, the Rainiers improved to 82-61 and the Bees fell to 62-80. The Bees’ last home game of the season is Sunday at 12:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square against the Rainiers. Tacoma goes for the series win while the Bees hope to salvage a series split.

Game 3 Playoffs

OAKLAND, Calif.-The Oakland Ballers edged Ogden 1-0 Saturday to win Game 3 of their Pioneer League playoff series at Raimondi Park. The Ballers will next play either Missoula or Idaho Falls Tuesday in the Pioneer League Championship Series.
