Pacific Coast League

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Ben Williamson and Leody Taveras homered and the Tacoma Rainiers bested Salt Lake 7-4 Thursday in Pacific Coast League play at The Ballpark at America First Square. Nick Anderson pitched one inning to earn the win on the mound for Tacoma. Chad Wallach homered in the loss for the Bees. Following Thursday’s results, the Rainiers improved to 80-61 and the Bees fell to 62-78. The Rainiers and Bees return to action Friday at 7:05 pm for the fourth game of the series at The Ballpark at America First Square.

Pioneer League

OAKLAND, Calif.-Tremayne Cobb Jr. drove in a pair of runs and the Oakland Ballers doubled up Ogden 4-2 in Pioneer League play Thursday at Raimondi Park in the first game of their Pioneer League playoff series. Noah Millikan’s seven strikeouts in 7 innings of work earned the win on the mound for Oakland. Christian Hall homered in the loss for the Raptors.

Game 2 of the series is slated for 7:35 pm at Raimondi Park with the Raptors needing a win to keep their season alive.
