SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Tirso Ornelas and Luis Campusano homered and the El Paso Chihuahuas downed Salt Lake 11-9 in Pacific Coast League play Tuesday at The Ballpark at America First Square. Bradgley Rodriguez netted a strikeout in one inning of work to earn the win on the mound for El Paso. Stephen Jones recorded the save for the Chihuahuas by pitching one inning. Denzer Guzman homered in the loss for the Bees. Following Tuesday’s results, the Chihuahuas, who trailed 6-0 and 8-1, improved to 71-61 while the Bees fell to 57-75. The squads return to action Wednesday at 6:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square in the second game of the series.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Connor Bagnieski drove in four runs and the Ogden Raptors routed Boise 12-4 Tuesday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play. Chase Chatman’s six strikeouts in five innings of work earned the win on the mound for Ogden. Jake Hjelle drove in two runs in the loss for the Hawks. Entering Tuesday’s results, the Raptors improved to 49-41 and the Hawks fell to 46-45. The squads return to action Wednesday at 6:30 pm at Lindquist Field for the second game of the series.
