BYU/Utah/Utah State Represented On Polynesian Football Player of the Year Watch List

HONOLULU-Thursday, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced its Watch List for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year. BYU, Utah and Utah State’s representatives are as follows:

BYU

redshirt sophomore defensive end Tausili Akana. Akana transferred to BYU this season from Texas. He had one tackle for the Longhorns last season.

junior safety Raider Damuni. Damuni netted a sack and 2.5 tackles for a loss last season for the Cougars. Damuni is a native of Provo and a former Timpview High School star.

redshirt sophomore linebacker Siale Esera. Esera had a sack and tackle for a loss last season for the Cougars. Like Damuni, Esera is a Provo native and a former Timpview High School star.

senior offensive lineman Weylin Lapuaho. Lapuaho is a native of South Jordan, Utah and a former Utah State/Bingham High School star.

redshirt senior defensive end Logan Lutui. Last season for the Cougars, Lutui posted a sack, two defensed passes and 3.5 tackles for a loss. Lutui is a native of West Valley City, Utah and has previously starred at Hunter High School and Weber State.

redshirt junior offensive lineman Sonny Makasini. Makasini is a native of Provo and a former Timpview High School star.

redshirt junior defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa. Tanuvasa recorded a sack, four defensed passes, four pass breakups and 4.5 tackles for a loss last season for the Cougars. Tanuvasa is a redshirt junior out of Mission Viejo, Calif.

Utah

graduate student linebacker Levani Damuni. Damuni, a native of Providence, Utah and a former Ridgeline High School/Stanford standout recorded no stats last season.

junior offensive lineman Spencer Fano. Fano is a native of Spanish Fork, Utah and a former Timpview High School star.

junior defensive end Logan Fano. Fano had 2.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for a loss last season for the Utes. Fano is a native of Spanish Fork, Utah and a former Timpview High School star. Logan and Spencer Fano are brothers.

redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Caleb Lomu. Lomu is a native of Gilbert, Ariz.

redshirt senior offensive lineman Michael Mokofisi. Mokofisi is a native of Woods Cross, Utah and a former Woods Cross High School star.

redshirt senior offensive lineman Tanoa Togiai. He is a former Rigby (Idaho) High School star out of Rigby, Idaho

sophomore defensive tackle Dallas Vakalahi. Vakalahi netted 2 sacks and 2.5 tackles for a loss last season for the Utes. Vakalahi is a native of West Valley City, Utah and a former West High School star.

graduate student defensive tackle Aliki Vimahi. Vimahi recorded two pass breakups and two tackles for a loss last season for the Utes. Vimahi is a native of Kahuku, Hawai’i and a former Kahuku High School star.

Utah State

senior receiver Kahanu Davis. Davis had 12 receptions for 96 yards last season. Incidentally, the native of Kalaheo, Hawai’i had his best game of the season in 2024 against Hawai’i, with four receptions for 58 yards in a 55-10 win over the Rainbow Warriors last November 16.
