SUGAR LAND, Texas-Brice Matthews and César Salazar each homered and the Sugar Land Space Cowboys edged Salt Lake 4-3 Tuesday in Pacific Coast League play at Constellation Field. John Rooney recorded two strikeouts in 1.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Sugar Land. Following Tuesday’s results, the Space Cowboys improved to 54-58 and the Bees fell to 47-67. The squads return to action Wednesday at 6:05 pm at Constellation Field for the second game in the series.
Pioneer League
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Damian Stone homered and the Ogden Raptors edged Grand Junction 14-13 in Pioneer League play Tuesday at Suplizio Field. Nico Saltaformaggio netted two strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Raptors. Alex Pimentel homered in the loss for the Jackalopes. The Raptors improved to 41-31 on the season and the Jackalopes fell to 31-42. The squads return to action Wednesday at 6:05 pm for the second game in the series.
