Thursday, Utah junior quarterback Devon Dampier was named to the Davey O’Brien Award Watch List. This award is annually presented to the nation’s best college quarterback. Dampier is the only representative of a Utah institution to receive this distinction.
The native of Phoenix completed 57.9 percent of his passes for 2,768 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season at New Mexico while also running for 1,166 yards and 19 scores for the Lobos.
Dampier and his Utah teammates start the season August 30 at UCLA.
