SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Keston Hiura and Sam Hilliard homered and the Albuquerque Isotopes downed Salt Lake 9-7 Saturday at The Ballpark at America First Square in Pacific Coast League play. Matt Turner posted a strikeout in 2.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Albuquerque. Niko Kavadas drove in three runs in the loss for the Bees. Albuquerque improved to 41-58 and secured at least a series split with Saturday’s win. Meanwhile, Salt Lake fell to 38-62. The series conclues Sunday with an opening pitch at 12:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Jake Hjelle homered and the Boise Hawks overpowered Ogden 21-9 at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play Saturday. Joe Skapinetz pitched one inning to earn the win on the mound for the Hawks. Elliot Good homered in the loss for the Raptors. Following Saturday’s results, the Hawks improved to 34-25 and the Raptors fell to 31-27. The squads return to action Sunday at 1:00 pm for the series finale at Lindquist Field.
