Idaho Falls Takes Two From Ogden Wednesday

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Wednesday, the Idaho Falls Chukars took two games from Ogden at Meleleuca Field to start the weekly series against the Raptors in Pioneer League play.

In the first game, which was postponed from Tuesday, Trevor Rogers and Tyler Wyatt homered and the Chukars outlasted the Raptors 5-4 in the knockout round. Gary Grosjean’s six strikeouts in seven innings of work earned the win on the mound for Idaho Falls. Christopher Sargent Jr. homered in defeat for the Raptors.

In the second game, Thomas McCaffrey homered and the Chukars again defeated the Raptors 4-3 in the knockout round Tuesday. Shane Spencer netted two strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Idaho Falls. Elliot Good drove in two runs in the loss for Ogden.

Following Wednesday’s results, the Chukars improved to 29-20 and the Raptors fell to 26-23 as Ogden suffered their fifth consecutive loss. The Chukars and Raptors return to action Thursday at 7:05 pm at Meleleuca Field for the third game in the series.
