SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Devin Mann, Grant McCray and Wade Meckler drove in two runs apiece and the Sacramento River Cats headed into the All-Star Break with a 7-0 win over the Salt Lake Bees, earning the series split Sunday at The Ballpark at America First Square in Pacific Coast League play. Kai-Wei Teng netted seven strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Sacramento. The River Cats improved to 47-46 on the season while the Bees fell to 36-56. Salt Lake returns from the All-Star Break Friday with a three game series at Sugar Land, Texas against the Space Cowboys. Opening pitch is 6:05 pm MDT.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Mike Rosario homered twice and Alec Sanchez also went yard as the Missoula PaddleHead secured a series split against Ogden with a 9-3 win over the Raptors Sunday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play. Brendan Beard’s four strikeouts in six innings of work earned the win on the mound for Missoula. Carmine Lane drove in two runs in the loss for Ogden. Following Sunday’s results, the PaddleHeads improved to 33-15 and the Raptors fell to 26-21. Ogden returns to action Tuesday at Idaho Falls for a six-game series against the Chukars at Melaleuca Field. Opening pitch is slated for 7:05 pm.
