SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Logan Porter, Oslevis Basabe, Grant McCray and Daniel Johnson homered and the Sacramento River Cats downed Salt Lake 13-6 Wednesday in Pacific Coast League play at The Ballpark at America First Square. Juan Mercedes netted five strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the River Cats. Tucker Flint and Niko Kavadas homered in the loss for the Bees. Sacramento improved to 45-44 and the Bees fell to 34-54 following Wednesday’s results. The squads return to action Thursday at 7:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square for the third game in the series.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Christopher Sargent Jr. homered and the Ogden Raptors smoked Missoula 12-7 Wednesday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play. Rolando Gutierrez Rosario netted eight strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Raptors. Colin Gordon and Leyton Barry homered in the loss for the PaddleHeads. The Raptors improved to 25-18 on the season as they have taken the first two games of this series. Meanwhile, the PaddleHeads fell to 30-14. The squads return to action Thursday at 6:30 pm at Lindquist Field for the third game in the series.
