TACOMA, Wash.-Tyler Locklear and Harry Ford homered and the Tacoma Rainiers smacked Salt Lake 9-3 Wednesday in Pacific Coast League play at Cheney Stadium. Casey Lawrence netted five strikeouts in six innings to earn the win on the mound for the Rainiers. Niko Kavadas and Kyren Paris each homered in the loss for the Bees. Tacoma improved to 42-41 on the season and the Bees slumped to 32-50 in defeat. The squads return to action Thursday at 7:05 pm MDT at Cheney Stadium.
Pioneer League
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-True Fontenot homered and the Ogden Raptors downed Idaho Falls 12-7 Wednesday, securing the series win against the Chukars at Melaleuca Field in Pioneer League play. Nico Saltaformaggio posted a strikeout in 2.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Raptors. Garret Ostrander and Benjamin Rosengard homered in the loss for the Chukars. Following Wednesday’s results, the Raptors, who have taken six of eight from the Chukars this season, improved to 22-16 and the Chukars fell to 24-14. The series concludes Wednesday at 7:05 pm at Melaleuca Field.
