Forsyth Fire Update

(Pine Valley, UT) — The Forsyth Fire that forced evacuations in three Utah communities has grown to nearly 13-thousand acres and is 32 percent contained. The U.S. Forest Service says natural features like rock bands and meadows are helping slow the fire’s spread. Firefighters continue mop-up operations in the fire’s northwest interior where behavior has calmed. Pine Valley remains in patrol status day and night. Crews have been deployed by helicopter to build fire lines on the eastern side. Officials are preparing for volatile weather with rising temperatures and strong winds this week. Fire-resistant materials have been applied to Oak Grove Campground and Browse Guard Station.
