Pacific Coast League

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Luis Matos and Grant McCray homered and the Sacramento River Cats dismantled Salt Lake 4-1 Thursday at The Ballpark at America First Square in Pacific Coast League play. Carson Seymour posted seven strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the River Cats. Ben Gamel homered in defeat for the Bees. Following Thursday’s results, the River Cats improved to 35-37 on the season while the Bees slumped to 27-44. The squads return to action Friday at 7:05 pm in the fourth game of the series.

Pioneer League

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Christopher Sargent Jr., Elliot Good and Carmine Lane drove in three runs apiece and the Ogden Raptors smoked Idaho Falls 13-5 Thursday at Meleleuca Field in Pioneer League play. Shane Gustafson’s four strikeouts in five innings of work earned the win on the mound for the Raptors. Anthony Mata, Trevor Rogers, Gabriel Vasquez and Thomas McCaffrey drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Chukars. Following Thursday’s results, the Raptors, who won their third straight, improved to 14-13. Meanwhile, Idaho Falls slumped to 17-9. The squads return to action Friday at 7:05 pm at Melaleuca Field for the fourth game in the series.
