LAS VEGAS-Darell Hernaiz homered and the Las Vegas Aviators smoked Salt Lake 9-3 Saturday at Las Vegas Ballpark in Pacific Coast League play. Mason Barnett netted nine strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Aviators. Chad Stevens homered in the loss for the Bees. The Aviators improved to 43-24 in victory and the Bees, losers of six straight and 12 of their last 15, fell to 26-41. The squads return to action Sunday at 1:00 pm at Las Vegas Ballpark for the series finale.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Esai Santos and Daniel Harris IV homered and the Oakland Ballers doubled up Ogden 22-11 in Pioneer League play Saturday at Lindquist Field. Luke Short netted three strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Ballers. Christopher Sargent Jr. drove in five runs in the loss for the Raptors. Oakland improved to 15-8 on the season while Ogden slumped to 11-12. The squads return to action to conclude the series Sunday at 1:05 pm at Lindquist Field.
