Senate Republican ‘False Deadline’ To Pass Spending Policy

(Washington, DC) — A Senate Republican is expressing doubt about President Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill being passed by July 4th. Utah Senator John Curtis called July 4th a false deadline for Republicans to pass their megabill. Curtis believes getting it right is more important than the party imposing a specific deadline. Other GOP senators have also publicly and privately voiced doubts about the bill’s passage, although Speaker Mike Johnson says he thinks the deadline is still realistic. While Senator Curtis is unsure about the current self-imposed deadline, he’s confident the bill will eventually pass.
