TACOMA, Wash.-Spencer Packard homered and the Tacoma Rainiers edged Salt Lake 5-4 Saturday at Cheney Stadium in Pacific Coast League play. Adonis Medina recorded a strikeout in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Rainiers. J.D. Davis, Kyren Paris and Tucker Flint drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Bees. Following Saturday’s results, the Rainiers improved to 26-30 and the Bees, losers of six in a row, fell to 23-32. The squads return to action Sunday at 2:35 pm MDT to conclude the series at Cheney Stadium.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-River Orsak homered twice and Bobby Lada, Cuba Bess and Cooper Hext also went yard as the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers edged Ogden 9-8 Saturday at Lindquist Field. Ethan Bates earned the win on the mound for Yuba-Sutter. Christopher Sargent Jr. homered in the loss for the Raptors. The High Wheelers improved to 8-3 on the season and secured at least a series split while the Raptors fell to 5-6. The squads return to action at Lindquist Field Sunday at 1:00 pm for the last game in the series.
