(Salt Lake City, UT) — Authorities are urging caution ahead of one of the deadliest traffic periods of the year. The Utah Highway Patrol and the state Department of Transportation reminded drivers about the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer yesterday. Officials say the majority of highway deaths in the state happen between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Ninety-two people died on Utah roads during that period last year. The UHP will be conducting several DUI blitzes this weekend, with other safe driving operations scheduled for later in the summer.
