5A Super Regionals

MURRAY, Utah-Kimball Essig homered and the No. 9 Viewmont Vikings upset No. 8 Murray 6-2 in the 5A Super Regionals Friday, winning the series 2-1 over the Spartans. Elias Culley netted five strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Viewmont. Conner Whitehead drove in two runs in the loss for Murray. The Vikings next face No. 1 Maple Mountain Monday at 4:30 pm in 5A bracket play at Miller Park on the campus of Brigham Young University.

5A Super Regionals

SALEM, Utah-Jocile Norman and Aliyah Elmer drove in two runs apiece and the No. 1 Salem Hills Skhyhawks ended No. 17 Wasatch’s season with a 10-0 win over the Wasps Friday. Keyana Murray posted six strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Skyhawks. Salem Hills next faces No. 8 Taylorsville Tuesday at 3:00 pm in 5A bracket play at The Complex of Taylorsville.

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Megan Sterzer and Aleya Wegner homered and the No. 8 Taylorsville Warriors completed a 5A Super Regionals sweep of Spanish Fork with a 10-3 win over the No. 9 Dons Friday. Wegner posted five strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Warriors. Audrey Overturf homered in defeat for the Dons.

BRIGHAM CITY, Utah-Lucy Griffin homered twice and the No. 4 Box Elder Bees overpowered No. 20 Bonneville 9-5 to sweep this 5A Super Regionals series against the Lakers Friday. Lucy Braegger posted 12 strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win in the circle for Box Elder. Ellee Summers, Kaylee McAfee and Peyton Johnson drove in a run apiece in the loss for Bonneville. Box Elder next competes in 5A bracket play Tuesday at 3:00 pm against No. 5 Olympus.

HOLLADAY, Utah-Allisson Robles homered and the No. 5 Olympus Titans edged No. 12 Clearfield 2-1 in the 5A Super Regionals Friday. Charlie Turner posted three strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Titans. Emma Dishongh drove in a run in the loss for the Falcons.

HOLLADAY, Utah-Lyla Leonhardt homered and the No. 12 Clearfield Falcons forced a Game 3 in the 5A Super Regionals against No. 5 Olympus with a 17-1 win over the Titans Friday. Jenna Lloyd netted seven strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win in the circle for Clearfield. Jaedin Mugleston drove in a run in the loss for Olympus.

WEST JORDAN, Utah-Arianna Fjeldsted and Abigail Bunker homered and the No. 3 West Jordan Jaguars drilled No. 14 Viewmont 13-3, completing a 5A Super Regionals sweep of the Vikings. Lexy Taylor netted two strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Jaguars. Raegyn Dahlke drove in two runs in the loss for the Vikings. West Jordan next competes in 5A bracket play Tuesday at 3:00 pm at the Valley Complex of Taylorsville against No. 6 Springville.

SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Allyx Haveron homered twice and Tyler Haveron, Kalia Sjoberg and Brooklyn Richardson also went yards as the No. 6 Springville Red Devils completed a 5A Super Regionals sweep of Cedar Valley with a 17-4 win over the Aviators Friday. Danica Everts drove in two runs in the loss for Cedar Valley.

SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Kalia Sjoberg drove in four runs and the No. 6 Springville Red Devils routed No. 11 Cedar Valley 16-6 Friday in the 5A Super Regionals. Brooklyn Richardson netted two strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win in the circle for Springville. Eva Okusi and Ellie Leatham homered in the loss for the Aviators.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Taylee Robinson, Gracie Jensen, Kyla Donegan and McClain Carter homered and the No. 7 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles outlasted No. 10 Cyprus 12-11 Friday, completing a 5A Super Regionals sweep of the Pirates. Jensen netted five strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win in the circle for Maple Mountain. Bree Garcia and Frankee Kelsch homered in the loss for the Pirates. Maple Mountain next draws No. 2 Bountiful Tuesday at 3:00 pm in 5A bracket play at The Valley Complex of Taylorsville.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Aspyn Danner drove in two runs and the No. 2 Bountiful RedHawks surged past No. 15 Hunter 7-4 Friday, completing a 5A Super Regionals sweep of the Wolverines. Dylan Carpenter netted two strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the RedHawks. Kinsley Lawrence drove in two runs in the loss for the Wolverines.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Tayten Remund and Jayden Cosper scored and the No. 4 Wasatch Wasps doubled up No. 5 Granger 2-1 in the 5A state boys soccer quarterfinals Friday. The Wasps next face No. 1 East Monday at 12:00 pm in the state semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium.

SALT LAKE CITY-Ángel Mendoza scored and the No. 1 East Leopards outlasted No. 9 Northridge 1 (5) -1 (4) on penalty kicks Friday in the 5A state boys soccer quarterfinals. Matthew Christiansen scored in the loss for the Knights.

SANDY, Utah-Zach Lovell, Max Wimmer and Josh Glazier each scored and the No. 2 Alta Hawks downed No. 10 Maple Mountain 3-1 in the 5A state boys soccer quarterfinals Friday. Luke Belot scored in the loss for the Golden Eagles. Alta next faces No. 3 Bountiful Monday at 2:15 pm in the state semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Noah Hilton, Cody Forbes and Austin Childers found the net and the No. 3 Bountiful RedHawks edged No. 6 Skyline 3-2 Friday in the 5A state boys soccer quarterfinals. Grayson Orum and Nico Golesis scored in the loss for the Eagles.
