HEBER CITY, Utah-Grant Mahoney, Bridger Shaw and Jack Salmon drove in a run apiece and the No. 12 Wasatch Wasps bested No. 21 Cedar Valley 5-3 in the first game of this 5A Regionals series Friday. Blake Sweat posted eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Wasps. Talen Ryan drove in a pair of runs in the loss for the Aviators.
SALT LAKE CITY-Peyton Papadakis drove in three runs and the No. 16 Skyline Eagles smoked No. 17 Bountiful 9-4 Friday in the first game of this 5A Regionals series. Andrew Lindquist netted 11 strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Eagles. Jackson Kyhl homered in defeat for the RedHawks.
BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Kade Marriott and Boston Williams drove in two runs apiece and the No. 24 Viewmont Vikings smacked No. 24 Bonneville 10-0 in the first game of this 5A Regionals series Friday. Jack Owen recorded six strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Vikings.
CLEARFIELD, Utah-Pratt Morley homered and the No. 20 Spanish Fork Dons upset No. 13 Clearfield 9-0 Friday in the first game of this 5A Regionals series. Swae Nielson posted 10 strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Dons.

LAYTON, Utah-Jon Olsen drove in three runs and the No. 15 Northridge Knights pummeled No. 18 Taylorsville 10-1 in the first game of this 5A Regionals series Friday. Kam Shirreffs posted five strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Knights. Logan Bertagnolli drove in a run in defeat for the Warriors.
WOODS CROSS, Utah-Beau Blackwell and Thomas Pattison homered and the No. 10 Woods Cross Wildcats routed No. 23 Box Elder 10-0 Friday in the first game of this 5A Regionals series. Coleman Burbidge netted 12 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Wildcats.
SANDY, Utah-Noah Gatti and Dallon Molder drove in three runs apiece and the No. 11 Jordan Beetdiggers pounded No. 22 Roy 14-1 in the first game of this 5A Regionals series Friday. Kade Carter posted two strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Beetdiggers. Connor Robinson drove in a run in defeat for the Royals.
SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Guss Johnson homered twice and the No. 19 Salem Hills Skyhawks upset No. 14 Springville 17-6 Friday in the first game of this 5A Regionals series. Peyton Higginson recorded three strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Skyhawks. Kasen Torres drove in two runs in defeat for the Red Devils.

ROY, Utah-Quinn Smith, Asher Hunt, Francisco Gandarilla and Sam Bischoff each scored and the No. 16 Roy Royals dismantled No. 17 Hunter 5-2 Friday in the first round of the 5A boys soccer state playoffs. Roy next visits No. 1 East Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Carter Egbert scored and the No. 10 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles blanked No. 23 Clearfield 1-0 in the first round of the 5A boys soccer state playoffs Friday. Josh Escobedo recorded the shutout in the net in victory for Maple Mountain.
LAYTON, Utah-Chance Terry and Lyric Featherstone each scored twice and the No. 9 Northridge Knights routed No. 24 Highland 6-1 Friday in the first round of the 5A boys soccer state playoffs. The Knights next visit No. 8 Viewmont Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
KEARNS, Utah-Gael Pena and Kobe Lerma each scored and the No. 21 Timpview Thunderbirds upset No. 12 Kearns 2-1 in the first round of the 5A boys soccer state playoffs. Timpview next visits No. 5 Granger Tuesday in the second round of the state playoffs.
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah-Adem Odobasic scored twice and the No. 15 Brighton Bengals routed No. 18 Taylorsville 6-1 in the first round of the 5A boys soccer state playoffs Friday. Arvin Rosales scored in the loss for the Warriors. Brighton next visits No. 2 Alta Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
SALEM, Utah-Brooks Barker netted five goals and the No. 11 Salem Hills Skyhawks pounded No. 22 West Jordan 8-0 Friday in the first round of the 5A boys soccer state playoffs. Tanner Torgerson and Luke Christensen combined on the shutout in the net for the Skyhawks. Salem Hills next visits No. 6 Skyline in the second round of the state playoffs Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
