(Kanab, UT) — An animal shelter in southern Utah is helping a counterpart in Texas. Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab says it recently partnered with the Rio Grande Valley Humane Society for two flights to bring more than 60 cats and dogs out of the overcrowded facility in Texas. Officials noted one flight sent more than three dozen animals to other shelters in Utah, and another earlier this month saw 18 pets make the trip. It’s all part of the Kanab organization’s efforts to end the killing of cats and dogs in shelters across the country.
