BYU Football Standouts Receive Tuesday Recognition

Tuesday, BYU football received recognition through the contributions of senior quarterback Jake Retzlaff and sophomore kicker Will Ferrin.

Retzlaff is completing 58 percent of his passes this season for 2,091 yards, 18 touchdowns and 7 interceptions and has been named as a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award. Retzlaff has run for four additional scores on the season for the Cougars.

Ferrin has been named one of the stars of the week for the Groza Award after leading the No. 7 Cougars to a 22-21 win over Utah by making a 44-yard field goal in the closing seconds and all three of his attempts on the evening.

Ferrin has made 17 of 20 field goal attempts (85 percent) on the season for BYU and all 34 of his PAT attempts for the Cougars.

The Cougars return to action Saturday evening by hosting Kansas at LaVell Edwards Stadium as the Big 12 season continues for both squads.
