5A State Quarterfinals
PROVO, Utah-Carson Rasmussen threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the No. 4 Timpview Thunderbirds routed No. 5 Orem 42-8 Friday in the 5A state quarterfinals. Timpview next faces No. 1 Roy Friday at 11:15 am in the state semifinals at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
ROY, Utah-Dru Gardner threw three touchdown passes and the No. 1 Roy Royals overpowered No. 8 Viewmont 43-29 in the 5A state quarterfinals Friday. Titan Longson threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score in defeat for the Vikings.
BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Emerson Geilman threw four touchdown passes and the No. 2 Bountiful RedHawks got past No. 7 Maple Mountain 42-35 Friday in the 5A state quarterfinals. Zachary Jensen threw four touchdown passes in defeat for the Golden Eagles. Bountiful next draws No. 3 Brighton Friday at 2:30 pm in the state semifinals at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah-Beau Le Fleur and Mason Haertel each ran for scores and Thomas Sorenson added a 33-yard field goal as the No. 3 Brighton Bengals edged No. 6 Olympus 17-14 in the 5A state quarterfinals Friday. Max Rice threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Caden Lloyd and James Schlendorf added a 17-yard touchdown run in defeat for the Titans.
5A State Volleyball Championship @ UVU
OREM, Utah-The No. 2 Skyline Eagles overpowered No. 1 Bountiful 3-0 Friday at the UCCU Center to win the state championship in girls volleyball. The Eagles prevailed 25-15, 25-20, 25-18 to defeat the RedHawks in straight sets and win their 10th all-time state title in girls volleyball. Skyline has state championships in girls volleyball in
