TYLER, Texas-For the second consecutive week, BYU sophomore tailback LJ Martin was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week honorable mention list.
Martin ran for 120 yards and a pair of scores in the No. 11 Cougars’ 38-35 win over Oklahoma State last Friday.
Martin, a former Canutillo High School star out of El Paso, Texas, has run for 5.2 yards per carry this season and scored six net touchdowns for the Cougars.
Martin and his BYU teammates return to action Saturday at Orlando, Fla. against the UCF Knights as the Big 12 season ensues for both squads.
