Weber State’s Richie Munoz Named National Player of the Week

Monday, Weber State sophomore quarterback Richie Munoz was named the State Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week in the Wildcats’ 55-48 upset of Top 10 Montana Saturday at Missoula, Mont.

The native of West Covina, Calif. completed 19 of 28 passes for 364 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions in the upset win over the Grizzlies.

Munoz is one of six players in Division I (FBS and FCS) to throw six touchdown passes in a game this season.

On the season, Munoz has completed 58.7 percent of his passes for 1,321 yards, 13 touchdowns and one interception.

Munoz and his Wildcats teammates return to action Saturday evening by hosting Northern Colorado at Stewart Stadium.
