Utah Car Dealers Advised To Clean-Up Deceptive Sales Practices

(Salt Lake City, UT) — State officials say all car dealers in Utah are now on notice. The Utah Division of Consumer Protection recently sent a letter to every dealer telling them it will investigate complaints and enforce state laws regarding deceptive sales practices. Division director Katie Hass says a wave of consumer complaints prompted the letter. The complaints largely fall under the category of bait-and-switch tactics where dealers advertise a car at a price the customer is not going to get. If you feel you’ve been treated unfairly by a car dealer, you can file a complaint with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection.
