WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Wade Meckler drove in six runs and the Sacramento River Cats overpowered Salt Lake 11-7 Tuesday at Sutter Health Park in Pacific Coast League play.
Spencer Howard posted three strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Sacramento.
Niko Kavadas and Keston Hiura homered in the loss for the Bees.
Following Tuesday’s results, the River Cats improved to 61-54 while the Bees fell to 54-60.
The River Cats and Bees return to action Wednesday at 7:45 pm at Sutter Health Park for the second game in the series.
