(Salt Lake City, UT) — The man convicted of killing a Cedar City woman in 1998 has been put to death. Taberon Honie was executed just after midnight at the Utah State Correctional Facility in Salt Lake City after more than two decades of being on death row. He was given the death penalty for the murder of Claudia Marie Been, who was his ex-girlfriend’s mother, and committed the crime in front of her grandchildren. The execution was the first to take place at the Salt Lake City prison and Utah’s first in 14 years.
