Bees Win Tuesday Over El Paso In Mike Trout Appearance

SALT LAKE CITY-Michael Stefanic and Jordyn Adams drove in two runs apiece and the Salt Lake Bees bested El Paso 4-1 Tuesday at Smith’s Ballpark to open a six-game Pacific Coast League series.

Luis Ledo posted a strikeout in one inning of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees.

Tirso Ornelas hit his 14th home run of the season in defeat for the Chihuahuas.

This evening was also noteworthy for the Bees as Los Angeles Angels star center fielder Mike Trout batted second in the lineup for Salt Lake.

In his only plate appearance, Trout unceremoniously struck out and left the game with knee soreness.

Following Tuesday’s results, the Bees improved to 45-51 and El Paso fell to 40-57.

The squads return to action Wednesday at 6:35 pm for the second game in the series at Smith’s Ballpark. Because of the Pioneer Day holiday, there will be fireworks following the game.
