SALT LAKE CITY-Jerar Encarnación homered and the Sacramento River Cats waxed the Salt Lake Bees 6-2 Tuesday in Pacific Coast League play at Smith’s Ballpark.
Spencer Bivens posted two strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the River Cats as he improved to 5-0 on the season.
Jake Marisnick drove in a run for the Bees in the loss.
Following Tuesday’s results, the River Cats improved to 48-40 on the season while the Bees fell to 37-50.
The squads return to action Wednesday at 6:35 pm for the second game in the series from Smith’s Ballpark.
