(St. George, UT) — A new national report shows Utah is the third-best state for children’s overall well-being. The Kids Count Data Book ranked the 50 states on a number of indicators such as family and community, economic well-being, education, and health. The Beehive State ranked first in the family and community category for having a low number of teen births and children living in high-poverty areas. Its worst rank was 13th in the health category, which saw an increase in low birth weight babies in 2022 compared to 2019. Only New Hampshire and Massachusetts fared better than Utah in the ranking.
