TACOMA, Wash.-Drew Ellis and Jason Martin each homered and the Salt Lake Bees downed Tacoma 5-3 Sunday at Cheney Stadium in Pacific Coast League play.
José Marte posted three strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees.
Ryan Bliss homered in the loss for the Rainiers.
The Bees secured a series split against Tacoma and in the past two series, have won 9 of the last 12 games against the top two teams in the PCL West standings.
Following Sunday’s results, the Bees improved to 19-25 and the Rainiers fell to 24-21.
Salt Lake returns to action Tuesday at 6:35 pm to start a six-game series at Smith’s Ballpark against the Albuquerque Isotopes.
