(Salt Lake City, UT) — Some wild weather is headed to Utah with the potential for power outages and dangerous driving conditions. Gusty winds will hit northern Utah, while rain and significant snow totals are coming to the southern parts of the state. Winds north of I-80 may be strong enough to cause property damage. Residents should prepare for sustained winds of 20-30 mph with gusts around 70 mph from mid-morning Thursday through early Friday. Southern Utah could end up with one of the year’s bigger storms hitting Friday and Saturday. The higher valleys may get two to four inches of snow by late Saturday and the mountains could receive 12 to 24 inches of fresh powder.
