(Salt Lake City, UT) — A bill that would end the requirement for front license plates in Utah passed its final vote in the Senate Wednesday. Senate Bill 45 passed 27 to zero, but with a slight change; commercial vehicles in the state will still be required to have front license plates. Proponents of the bill say it will streamline the license plate distribution process, and save the state about 3-million dollars a year. The legislation will go into effect on January 1st, 2025.
