(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox wants to make it easier for qualified behavioral health workers to become licensed in the state. The governor presented the results of the first year’s research to review of professional licensing for behavioral health professionals and released the recommended changes to the licensing process. Changes included: implement more flexible supervision hours, establish a new alternative supervision track, create a multi-professional board, and allow psychologists limited prescribing privileges. The legislature would need to approve any changes.
