Jeffrey R. Holland Named Acting President LDS Quorum Of The Twelve

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has appointed Elder Jeffrey R. Holland to serve as Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The popular 82-year-old Holland succeeds the late M. Russell Ballard, who died earlier this week at age 95. Holland, a St. George native, carries the title of Acting President because the more senior Dallin H. Oaks, serves in the governing First Presidency as a counselor to Church President Russell M. Nelson.
