Weeping Rock Rockfall Stops Traffic In Zion National Park

(Zion National Park, UT) — A rockfall near Weeping Rock stopped traffic in Zion National Park for more than an hour yesterday afternoon. The rockfall, a little after 3:30 p.m., threw up a dust cloud that forced shuttle buses to stop until about 5. The Weeping Rock Shuttle Stop, the nearby parking area, and the hiking trail are closed to the public while park scientists and maintenance staff assess rock in the area.
