Rep. Mike Schultz Elected Utah House Speaker

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah House has elected Representative Mike Schultz for the role of Speaker of the House. He defeated Melissa Garff Ballard in the race to replace Brad Wilson, who stepped down as speaker to focus on his run for the U.S. Senate. Schultz said he was humbled to be chosen by his colleagues to serve as speaker, adding that he’ll give his full commitment to putting Utahns first.
