HOUSTON-Wednesday, Utah football junior defensive end Jonah Elliss has been named as one of four national finalists for the Lombardi Award.
This award is annually bestowed upon the top college football offensive or defensive lineman who exemplifies the character and discipline of Vince Lombardi.
Elliss’ fellow finalists are
Notre Dame junior offensive lineman Joe Alt
Georgia junior tight end Brock Bowers (44 rec, 601 yards, 5 TD’s)
UCLA senior defensive lineman Laiatu Latu (11 sacks, interception, 18.5 tackles for a loss)
Elliss is tied for second nationally with 12 sacks and tied for 5th nationally with 16.5 tackles for a loss.
The four finalists will be invited to a formal dinner at Houston December 6 when the winner will be announced.
