5A State Quarterfinals

BRIGHAM CITY, Utah-Chase Moseley threw five touchdown passes and the No. 5 Olympus Titans routed No. 4 Box Elder 41-14 in the 5A state quarterfinals Friday at Box Elder High School. Dax Sumko had a pair of touchdown runs in the loss for the Bees. Olympus next faces No. 1 Timpview Thursday at 11:00 am in the state semifinals at Rice-Eccles Stadium on the campus of the University of Utah.

PROVO, Utah-Helaman Casuga threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score as the No. 1 Timpview Thunderbirds routed No. 8 Brighton 55-35 at Provo High School Friday in the 5A state quarterfinals. Jack Johnson threw a pair of touchdown passes in the loss for the Bengals.

SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Faletau Satuala had an 11-yard touchdown run in overtime and Emerson Geilman added the subsequent 2-point conversion as the  No. 10 Bountiful Redhawks upset No. 2 Springville 36-35 Friday in the 5A state quarterfinals at Springville High School. Tevita Valeti ran for three scores and tossed a pair of touchdown passes in defeat for the Red Devils. Bountiful next faces No. 11 Alta Thursday at 2:30 pm in the state semifinals at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

ROY, Utah-Matt McKea threw two touchdown passes and the No. 11 Alta Hawks got past No. 3 Roy 13-9 Friday at Roy High School in the 5A state quarterfinals. Robert Young had a 98-yard kickoff return for a score and Colby Frokjer made a 47-yard field goal in the loss for the Royals.
