(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state wants to get unclaimed money back into the hands of Utah residents who may not know about it. The state’s Unclaimed Property Division announced a new program this week called MyCash Now. Anyone owed two-thousand dollars or less will automatically have it sent to them under the new program. The state had previously required anyone with unclaimed property to file a claim for it before it could be returned. The state is sending out thousands of letters asking those who are owed money to confirm their address so a check can be mailed to them.
