OKLAHOMA CITY-Thursday, BYU junior cornerback Jakob Robinson was named the Jim Thorpe Award National Defensive Back of the Week for his achievements in the Cougars’ 27-14 win over Texas Tech last Saturday.
Against the Red Raiders, Robinson, a former Orem High School star, recorded an interception, a pass breakup and eight solo tackles.
Robinson also won this award September 30, making him the only defensive back in FBS college football to win it twice this season.
Robinson has four interceptions on the season.
Robinson and his teammates return to action Saturday at Texas as the Big 12 season continues.
